Post Requests, Comments, Suggestions???

Hey guys,

As you might have already realized, the indie channel has recently gone through some changes. I am the new channel director and have completely revamped the playlist. I have been getting really positive comments about the playlist thus far.

I wanna know more of your thoughts. Do you have any songs that you would like to be added to the playlist? Do you think a song shouldn't be in the playlist? What else can be done to improve your listening experience?

I will try my best to do whatever is in my power to allow you to enjoy the indie rock channel even more.

Are you still playing the new music from Matt Farr? Crying Sun is particularly good.

Default Suggestions

Hey there, Mike! I'm a listener of Indie Rock - SKY.FM from Malaysia. The name's Tia. I believe I've listened to this station for about a year or so, and I just noticed that there's an actual DJ for the station now. That's great, since it's got that radio-station 'feel' now!

You mentioned that you're new to this and needs help? Well, I have some useful tips you can follow.

First of all, you've got to have extra information about the music Indie Rock - SKY.FM plays. Don't just give us the names of bands and songs and tell us how awesome they are (they are awesome, though. :P). Go the little extra length by researching them a bit, and surprise us with facts about the band and/or song. Say, the actual meaning behind the lyrics or title, or how the band came to be, or the band's current/upcoming project.

You can also update us on the current most favourited song, maybe? Do we have a forum or poll for that? You can use that.

Now this, I personally think, would be an interesting addition to your talk shows. Ask your listeners seemingly random questions every day, related to the song you play. For example, after an Arctic Monkeys song, ask us if we like monkeys, or ask us about our saddest experiences and then play Don't Be Sad by Whiskeytown. I hope you get the gist of it here.
You can tell us to leave our answers in the forums, and you can relay the replies on the station then.

I believe these are the things that actually attract listeners to your station, other than the awesome songs, of course. I have no objections whatsoever regarding your choice of playlist; they got me hooked. But if I have suggestions for songs, I'll be sure to post them up here.

Hmm, this is all I'll write for now. I do hope you reply, and I'll be glad to continue this conversation. Again, Mike, great job on your effort!

Hey Tia,

Thank you for your input. Sorry about the late response but I didn't see that this post was commented on!

Awesome feedback. The reason why I stayed away from talking more about the tracks was because I wanted to just establish the show's foundation before I went on to elaborate more about the tracks.

But as I see there is an audience I will be providing more background information!

Thanks again!

Mike

Default You're welcome

I see, that does sound reasonable. Well, I'll be looking forward to more of your shows then. I want to see you rise up progressively! And you are most welcome, Mike. Glad to be of help, albeit tiny.

Default Indie rock database

Hello:

I have created a site with an extensive database of artists and indie groups. I write you in order to ask two things:
1.- Can I put a link to my site from here?
2.- Even the answer is no, can I link your site to mine?.

If you want to check my site, please emai me to indierockdata******.com and I'll send you my url.

Thanks a lot.

Hey Mike,

I've got an oddball question.... I listen to your channel through tuneinradio (which I record to listen to at work, where I am unable to get a reliable signal on my iphone). I've found many new artists through your channel but one song in particular wasn't labelled correctly and shazam is stumped as is google when I attempt to do a lyric search. I can usually find the artist/title of anything but with this tune I'm totally lost. I can only assume the artist is unsigned and even then it's odd not to find some sort of lyrics online.

Anyway, the chorus goes

"who wants to work all day, to earn your pay, it makes you miserable.
I'm gonna work my way around, and leave this town.
and when the day is done, and it's no fun,
I'll leave it all behind, but it's always on my mind."

Who is this?
