The haunting vocals of Lisbeth Scott combined with Schwartz's arrangement, especially the strings, make this one amazing, IMO. Schwart and Scott only exceed this effort with the similarly haunting Veni Creator Spiritus from the same album - State of Grace.

OK BIG QUESTION!!! I was watching TV and the commerical for Haggen Daz popped up, and I fell in love w/ the back ground music and wanted to play it on the panio, so I emailed the Hagen Daz media person asking what song was used in there commericals, she said it was titled 'State if Grace'. So I went on a hunt for the Sheet Music for Free. So far, I haven't been able to find it, so I Googled it and Amazon popped up and I listened to a clip of it and from the clip I couldn't tell if this was the song, so I am posted here to see if it is, if you could tell me, is this the song used in the Hagen Daz commerical??? Thx

Sounds both heavenly and haunting at the same time. Wonderful composition, sounds extremely well-thought-out!

Whenever this song comes on I immediately stop what I'm doing and close my eyes so I can savor every note coming out of my speakers. The female vocalist in this has such a strong, compelling voice and I think she makes this song extra-special.
If a vote of "Amazing" on a scale from 1 to 10 is a 10, then this song is a 20! Play it some more, please. You can't hear the good stuff too much. |

I originally voted very good. I would change that to amazing now if I could. I am more impressed with Paul Schwartz (and group) all the time.

And now I have changed my vote to simply amazing! I discovered that Paul Schwartz has made it possible on his website to listen to all the music from three of his CDs, including "State of Grace," from which this piece comes. The CD includes an alternate version, titled "Angelica," which if possible is even more amazing than this one. Additionally, on "State of Grace II", guitarist Carlos Santana collaborates and plays to create yet another, very unique version titled "Curación". These CD's, along with "Earthbound" have shot to the top of my buy list.

Yes, this is amazing. I also think the next song on the CD, "Amazing Grace," is phenomenal too. I'd like to hear it on SKY.fm.

Sad piece - the woman's voice sounds tragic and desperate.

The most excellent vocals from this lady and a excellent song that makes you stop what you are doing and just sit there an aborb every note.
